Houston Glass

Houston Bruce Glass, 90, of Independence, MO passed away Sunday, April 4, 2010 at his home. Memorial Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 9-10:00 a.m. Cremation with inurnment in Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 14506 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Houston was born January 31, 1920 in Lawrence, KS to Wilber Earl and Mary M. (Bruce) Glass. He graduated from Edina High School in 1937. Houston was united in marriage on July 12, 1943 to Mable Wallis, together they shared 65 years of love. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Mr. Glass worked for Price Candy Co. from 1940 until his retirement in 1984. He was an active and faithful member of the church. Mr. Glass is survived by his sons Richard Glass and wife Jan, Bruce Glass and wife Beverly; grandson Christopher Glass. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Mable Glass on February 5, 2009.
