LeRoy H. Goebel, 85, of Independence, MO passed away November 21, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. with a 2:00 p.m. service to follow on Wednesday, November 24, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Crossroads Hospice. LeRoy was born February 23, 1925 in Independence, MO to Henry Herman and Golda Ann (Lewis) Goebel. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Luke’s Evangelical Church. LeRoy was a veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Illah Goebel. He is survived by his daughters, Devona Gish (Gary) and Janella Hanna; five grandchildren, Christopher Gish, Kevin Gish, Lori Bowman (Brian), David Hanna (Stephanie) and Jared Hanna (Amanda); three great grandchildren; one sister, Nina Gowin; and one brother, Leonard Goebel (Mary).
