Tina Louise Gonzalez

Tina Louise Gonzalez, 43, was called to the Lord on January 13, 2023. A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, January 20, 2023, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. A Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 19, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Rosary being offered at 5:30 PM at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052.

Tina Louise Gonzalez was born on April 12, 1979, in Independence. MO to Jesse and Cecilia (Zaragoza) Gonzalez. She attended Fort Osage High School and graduated with the Class of 1997. After graduation, Tina pursued careers in massage therapy and as an esthetician. She worked at MAC as a makeup artist. However, with an unmatched passion for animals, especially her cat, Geek, and dog, Baby, whom she had for 15 years, she found her way to KC Pet Project.

While working for KC Pet Project, she would often volunteer to walk the animals, or let them be her companion while she was working. Tina would often forgo something for herself if it meant she had the means to help an animal in need.

Tina was loved by all of those who encountered her and possessed a way of lighting up the lives of those she encountered. She will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Tina is survived by her parents, Jesse and Cecilia Gonzalez; brother, Jesse Gonzalez, II; uncle, Gilbert Gonzalez; uncle, Joel Jimenez; aunts, Stella Gonzales and Stephanie Samayee; and boyfriend, Fred Hawkins.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Isabel R. Gonzalez and grandmother, Rose Zaragoza, as well as, her grandfather, David T. Zaragoza and uncle Ruben J. Zaragoza.
