Jason Gooch

Jason Curtis Gooch, 23, of Independence, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2007 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Jason was born April 11, 1984, in Independence, MO to Mark and Wanda Gooch. He was a member of Boy Scout Troop 383 and awarded his Eagle Scout honor on Nov. 23, 1998. He was a Warrior in the tribe of Mic-O-Say. Jason graduated high school from William Chrisman in 2002 and went on to complete his associate’s degree from Blue River Community College. He soon began a Nursing Program at William Jewel and was to complete his bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing Dec. 2007 from UCM. Jason ran his own lawn care business for 7 years with dedication to his many clients. Over the past summer Jason volunteered his time to Camp Quality of KC (Camp for Children with Cancer). He is survived by his parents, Mark and Wanda Gooch, his sister Christen Gooch and niece Hannah; and grandmother Anne C. Gooch, his girlfriend Sarah Kalousek and her daughter Adriana; also surviving are an abundance of close friends and relatives whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Lloyd O. Gooch Jr., Jesse D. Box, and Barbara A. Box. The family will greet friends on Thursday, Nov. 8th from 6 to 8 pm at Speaks Suburban Chapel at 39th and 291 Hwy in Independence, 816-373-3600. Funeral services will also be held Friday, Nov. 9th at 2 pm at Speaks Suburban Chapel.
