Melvin Leroy Gordon, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2022, he was 81 years of age.
Melvin was born on July 27, 1941, in Independence, Missouri, the son of Everett and Icel (Lusso) Gordon, he was one of 4 children. He graduated from Fort Osage High School, in Independence, MO in the class of 1959. Melvin was a collector of coins and antiques, a sports lover, and in his later years after moving to Texas, he enjoyed going dancing with his friends. Melvin loved his family and will be terribly missed.
Melvin is survived by his sons; Sean (Kimberly) Gordon, Todd (Keri) Gordon; grandchildren, Brayden, Luke, Kayla, Tegan, Charlie; sister, Sandy (Ted Schramm) Moore; nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; Everett and Icel Gordon; and brothers Everett “Sonny” Gordon Jr., and David Paul Gordon.
Cremation is planned with a Celebration of Life to be held by the family at a later date.
