Larry Carl Gorham, Sr., passed away unexpectedly of a pulmonary embolism on July 19, 2015, at St. Mary’s Hospital, at the age of 71.
Larry was born on June 11, 1944, in La Plata, MO to Stanley Eugene and Deloma Ethel Gorham. He had been a resident of Buckner, MO, since 1973. Larry was a steel worker for Armco Steel/GST in the #2 Rod Mill, and retired from there in 1999. He had a great love of the outdoors and could often could be found hunting, fishing, or searching for mushrooms. He was a wonderful, patient teacher to the neighborhood kids, whom Larry cared for as his own. He had a quiet, caring soul, with a dry sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife, Rose, of 50 years, children: Tracy (Scott) VanHooser, Larry (Stacy) Gorham, Jr., and Kelly (Bryan) Tennison, and brother, Robert (Carol) Gorham. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Mikayla, Logan, and Dalton, step-granddaughter, Ashley, and great-grandchildren, Brady and Ella, as well as many family members, and his beloved dog, Maggie.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Donald Gorham, and sister, Ann Watrous.
A private memorial service is planned to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association in his honor.
