Helen Irene Gorley, 89, Independence, MO passed away Friday, July 01, 2011.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Burial to follow at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Helen was born August 28, 1921 in Weir, KS the daughter of Riley K. and Edith M. (Larson) Stark. She had worked for Donnelly Garment Company and as a phone operator for Bell Telephones. Helen later retired from AT&T (Western Electric). She was a member of the South Crysler Restoration Branch and was involved with the Knife and Fork Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond S. Gorley in 2005; infant brother, Charles Wilbur Stark and her parents. Survivors include her son, Wayne Gorley and his wife Carol; daughter, Shirley Beasley and her husband Chris; son Roger Gorley and his companion Allen; grandchildren, Elyse McLeod, Amanda Brown, John Beasley, Michael Beasley and Sarah Beasley; great grandchildren, Avery McLeod, Lily Brown and Owen McLeod; and her sister Frances Tribble.
