Reginald Gosling, 89, of Independence, MO, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 27, just 18 days shy of his 90th birthday. He was born on Sept. 14, 1917 in N. Battleford, Saskatchewan, Canada, one of seven children born to Percy and Annie (Greening) Gosling. He moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba as a young man, where he met and married E. Irene Fisher. Together, they moved with four children to Independence, MO in Sept. 1952. Another child was born later. He was a meter reader for the city of Winnipeg while living in Canada and worked for Guy’s Foods, Inc. as a route deliveryman and supervisor for 25 years before retiring in Sept. 1981. He was baptized in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as a young man and served as an Elder in the RLDS church and later in Independent Restoration Branches before joining the Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He continued to serve as an Elder until his health prevented it. His service to the Lord and his family were the most important things in his life. He is preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; one brother; and his wife of 44 years. Reginald is survived by two sons, Russell Gosling of Florida and Gregory Gosling of Independence; three daughters, Gaylia Coffman, Lenore Larsen and Marylyn Gosling, all of Independence, MO; two sisters, Evelyn Ross and Kathleen Freeman (his twin), both of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; eight grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 10-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 1, at the Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Blue Springs Congregation, 5555 Valley View Road, Blue Springs, MO 64015. The service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens, Independence, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Remnant Church or a favorite charity in Reginald’s name.
