Grace Adams, born Grace Olsted on December 4, 1943, bid farewell to this world on July 25, 2024, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was 80 years old. A beloved wife, dedicated mother, and a cherished friend, Grace leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will forever be remembered.
Her education at Rosedale High School laid the foundation for a life filled with learning and growth. While her professional career saw her contribute to Quest Diagnostics for many years, it was in the role of a homemaker where she truly shone. A nurturer at heart, Grace dedicated herself wholeheartedly to caring for her children and family with unwavering love and support. Grace's jovial spirit and warm personality endeared her to all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with her. Her incredible sense of humor brought joy to those around her, while her kind and caring soul left a lasting impact on everyone she met. Grace found immense joy in spending time with animals of all kinds. Her passion for furry friends led her to volunteer at animal shelters and open her home to foster pets in need. From birds to hamsters to cats, Grace's heart was always open to the creatures that brought her so much happiness. Beyond her love for animals, Grace was a social butterfly who thrived in the company of others. She delighted in attending gatherings such as birthdays, weddings, and holiday celebrations, where her presence added warmth and light to any occasion.
Grace's passing was preceded by her parents; Pearl and Esther Olsted, her beloved husband; Lester Adams, and her sisters; Ruby Roy and Jane Brisneo. Her legacy lives on through her children; Cameron Adams and Larissa Ross (Adam), as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Her family will greet guests during her visitation at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence on August 31, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Following this, a Memorial Service will take place at the same location from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM as they come together to celebrate a life well-lived. A graveside at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens will immediately follow.
