Retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Harrold E “Hal” Graham, Independence, MO died Oct. 7, 2007 at Centerpoint Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm, Friday, Oct. 12, 2007 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church. Cremation. Inurnment with Full Military Honors will take place at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the American Heart Assoc.
Lt. Col. Graham was in the U.S. Army Medical Service for 27 years. He served in Europe during WW II and in Korea during the Korean Conflict. He earned a Bronze Star and the Army Commendation Medal. Subsequent assignments included tours in France and later in Germany. Stateside tours of duty were in Brooklyn, NY for medical supply procurement and in the Surgeon General’s Office in Washington, DC. He graduated from Park College. Upon retiring from the military, Hal returned to Independence and served at Trinity Lutheran Hospital for nineteen years as director of material management.
Lt. Col. Graham is survived by his wife of 53 years Rose Graham, of the home; sons Richard Graham, Santa Barbara, CA; Mark Graham and wife Kim, San Clemente, CA; daughters Paula Mullins and husband Ken, Columbia, MO; Susan Shepherd and husband John, West Lake Village, CA; and eleven grandchildren.
