Dawn Elaine Gray, 46 of Independence, MO passed away Sunday morning at her residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday at St. Ann’s Catholic Church with cremation to follow. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Donations may be made to the Wayside Waifs. Dawn was born January 2, 1961 in Kansas City, MO to R. Lee and Marjorie (Tormena) Brewer. She was a lifelong area resident attending public schools and graduated from Blue Springs North High School in 1979. She had worked for 20 years for the Social Security Administration, most recently as a payroll clerk. She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed crafts, was a Pampered Chef dealer and had worked as a beautician. She is survived by; a son, Christopher Gray of the home: mother and step father, Marjorie and David Johnston of Lee’s Summit, MO, Father and step mother, R. Lee and Kay Brewer of Moline, IL: a brother, Ralph Brewer of Olathe, KS: a step sister, Ellen Hardy of Barrington, Il: 2 step brothers, Robert Hardy of Spokane, WA and Joseph Hardy of Mt. Vernon, WA and her beloved dogs, Calvin and Tilly.
