Ellen Gray, 91, of Independence, MO peacefully passed away Monday, February 1, 2016 at home surrounded by her daughters. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 5, 2016 at First Baptist Church Lee’s Summit, 2 N Douglas, Lee’s Summit, MO 64063. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 4, 2016 at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the church in memory of Ellen. Burial in Lobb Cemetery. Ellen was born November 23, 1924 in Ft. Smith, AR to James and Cynthia (Perkinson) Mooney. She was married to Lloyd Gray who preceded her in death in 1999. The Grays were active and faithful members of First Baptist Church of Independence for many years. Ellen was passionate about helping others and giving of her time. Mrs. Gray retired from Southwestern Bell in 1981 and was a member of the Pioneers. Ellen and her daughters most recently have been members of First Baptist Lee’s Summit. Mrs. Gray is survived by daughters Mary Gray and Janice Gray; and by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
