Katie Gray

Katie Gray, 61, of Independence, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2012. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 8, 2012 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E 39th Street Independence, MO 64055. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Sunday, December 9th at the chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park Gardens, KS at a later time.
Katie was born June 8th, 1951 in St. Joseph, MO to Florence (Herman) and Virgil Paden. She attended high school near Kansas City. She was a simple person who enjoyed the simple things in life. Katie played cards, crocheted, and enjoyed a round of Rock N Roll music. She loved her grandchildren and often played cars and super-heroes with them. Katie enjoyed being with her husband Tim who she was married to for 22 years. Together they camped and cooked good food. She even spent a year traveling in his truck with him. Katie enjoyed reading the most. She is loved and will be missed by many.
Katie is survived by her husband Tim Gray, of the home; sons, Adrian Claxton (Heidi) and Apollo Claxton (Samantha) all of Independence; father, Virgil Paden; brother, Kenny Paden of Lake Perry, KS; and three grandsons, Samuel, Apollo, Casey and one granddaughter on the way. She was preceded in death by her mother, step-father, and brothers, Jonny and Denny.
