Hardy Dale “Hot Dog” Green, 75, of Kansas City, MO passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at North Kansas City Hospital. Hardy was born July 8, 1935 to Cecil and Thelma (Ray) Green. He attended Manuel High School and later worked as a forklift operator for Yellow Freight, retiring in 1998 after 30 years of service. Hardy took great pride in his Teamster brothers, Local 41. He worked hard to care for his family and will be missed for his humble and dependable nature. Hardy is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Barbara (Childs) Green; children: Wanita St. Peter and husband Roger, Diana Daily and husband Dearl, Robert Green and wife Michelle, and Dollie Rodgers and fiancé Paul Jones; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother Cecil Green and wife Darlene; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; son Hardy Victor Green; daughter Pamela Green; granddaughter Misty Rodgers; and siblings Keith, Donnie, Matthew, and Sandra. A visitation will be from 6-9:00 PM Thursday, September 2 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence. Services will be at 12:00 PM Friday at the Chapel with burial to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
