Meredith Greer

Meredith Ann Greer, 79, of Olathe, KS, formerly of Independence, MO, passed away, Saturday, August 9, 2008 at the Johnson County Nursing Center. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at the Mound Grove Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Trail Creek Church of Christ P.O. Box 861192 Shawnee, KS 66286-1192. Meredith was born March 27, 1929 in Cobb, WI to Bennie and Alice Marie (Fingerhut) Mercer. She graduated from N.E. high school and earned a college degree. She had worked for a number of years as a billing clerk for Montgomery Wards before her retirement. She enjoyed crocheting, Boy Scout activities and spending time with her family. She was a member of Trail Creek Church of Christ. She was married to Kenneth Eugene Greer, Sr. in 1948; he passed away on June 11, 1988. She is survived by; 2 sons, Kenneth Eugene Greer, Jr. and his wife Diane of DeSoto, KS and Keith Alan Greer of Independence, MO; a daughter, Cheryl Atchley and her husband Bobby of Chelsea, OK; a brother, William Lee Richards and his wife Becky of Hermitage, MO; 5 grandchildren, Jason Atchley, Angela Rainey, Kevin Greer, Kyle Greer and Katy Greer; 2 great grandchildren, Dakota Rainey and Brooklyn Rainey. She was preceded in death by a brother, Donney Mercer and a daughter, Cleta Greer in 1996.
