Billie E. Grindstaff, 64, died unexpectedly July 12, 2011. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am, Sat., July 16 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 3736 Lee’s Summit Road, Independence, MO 64055; interment at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 5-8 pm, Friday with a Rosary beginning at 8 pm at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO 64055.
Bill was born Jan. 16, 1947 in Shenandoah, IA. He was formerly the CEO of Paragon Medial Service and had worked in the Sales Dept. at Markel Ford in Omaha, NE. He was a member of the church, a member of the Knights of Columbus and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He was a jack-of-all-trades and master of many. He enjoyed working on cars and motorcycles. He was major advocate of duct tape.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth Paul Grindstaff and Cora Lee Walker. He is survived by his wife Laurene of the home; daughters Tammy Wetzel and husband Shawn, Gladstone, MO; Flicsha Roberson and husband Stephen, Lawson, MO; sons Jacob Grindstaff and wife Tashina, Independence, MO; Adam Grindstaff and wife Andrea, Crystal Lakes, MO; step-father Robert A. Doige, Omaha, NE; brothers David Grindstaff; Doug Grindstaff; Terry Grindstaff; Paul Grindstaff; grandchildren Jessica, Zachary, Marissa, Sarah, Isaac and Kayla.
