Sarah Ruth Grinstead

Sarah Ruth Grinstead, 65, of Independence, Missouri passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 31, 2023. Sarah was born to Keith and Hazel Grinstead on March 19, 1958 in Ridgeway, Missouri.

Sarah was the second youngest of 11 children and loved her family fiercely. Her bubbly, energetic, outgoing personality helped to set her apart and she loved to care for those in need. Sarah was known as a very generous, kind person and was always looking for ways to help others or just to show them she cared. Birthdays were a big deal to her and she used her extreme couponing/bargaining skills to make sure she always had gifts on hand to put a smile on the faces of those she loved. Sarah had excellent math and problem-solving skills and loved a challenge. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her sisters, Shirley Jarman (John), Sandy Belcher (Joe), Sharon Bockelman (Michael “Greg”); brothers, Keith DeWayne Grinstead Jr., Bobby Grinstead; aunt, Betty Broncucci and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Sarah is preceded in death by her parents, Keith and Hazel Grinstead; sisters, Rose Marie Leach, Sylvia Poehlein; Sheri Butenbach; brother, Lonnie Grinstead and infant brother, Larry Grinstead; maternal and paternal grandparents, numerous aunts and uncles.
