Floyd Allen Hahs, 88, Independence, MO passed away Dec. 29. 2015 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Funeral services will be at noon, Sat. Jan. 2, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Independence, 500 W. Truman Rd., Independence, MO 64050; interment at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 am before services at the church. The family requests contributions to the church. Floyd was born May 19, 1927 in Clay County, Arkansas to Carl and Thelma (Moore) Hahs. He spent his early years on the farm assisting his father. He also spent some time in California working in agriculture with his uncle. Floyd was drafted into the U.S. Air Force at the end of World War II He was sent to the South Pacific with the U.S. Occupational Forces. After serving his country, he came to Kansas City, MO where he was employed by Armco Steel, retiring May 31, 1992. Floyd was united in marriage to Maxine Brown on Feb. 23, 1946. A son, Larry, was born to this union on May 8, 1948. He was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Independence, MO where he served his Lord in the offices of Deacon, usher, greeter and also substitute teacher. Floyd is survived by his wife Maxine; siblings Dorothy Martin of Bates City, MO and Gene Hahs of Gladstone, MO; grandchildren Christopher Hahs and wife Jamie of Leesburg, VA; Matthew Hahs and wife Sarah of Olathe, KS; Miranda Bridges and husband Dustin of Adrian, MO; Ashli Teeman and husband Nick of Kingsland, GA; Russell Hahs of Spring Hill, KS; great-grandchildren Dakota and Savannah Patterson of Trinity, NC; Ryan Hahs of Leesburg, VA; Keegan, James, Patrick and Grace Hahs of Olathe, KS; Cody and Clayton Bridges of Adrian, MO; Emma, Stella, Jackson and Jameson Teeman of Kingsland, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Larry and sister Vonda Langston.
