Floyd Hale, 91, of Sugar Creek, passed away October 5, 2007 at Monterey Park Nursing Center. Mr. Hale was born on October 4, 1916 in Oak Grove, AR to Elijah Martin and Lucy (Riddle) Hale. He was a loving husband and grandfather who enjoyed gardening, fishing, traveling, and was an avid reader. He served in the U.S. Air Force and obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant. Before his retirement, Floyd worked as a utilities operator for Standard Oil Refinery. Floyd had a love for helping others and was an advocate of charitable organizations. He attended St. Ann’s Catholic Church for many years.
Floyd was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of nearly 63 years, Madeline Marie Hale, in 2006. He is survived by three grandchildren: Kathy Wald, Brian Bolger, and Craig Bolger; seven great-grandchildren; special sister-in-law Dorothy Snow; and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
Visitation will be from 6-7:30 PM, Tuesday, Oct. 9 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Indep. MO. A rosary will be said at 10:00 AM, Wednesday at the chapel with a graveside service immediately following at Woodlawn Cemetery.
