Ben G. Hallford, 91, of Independence, MO went to his heavenly home on October 14, 2009 at St. Mary’s Manor, Blue Springs, MO. Ben was born July 22, 1918 in Charleston, Arkansas to Lena Greathouse Hallford and John Blackwell Hallford. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII (1941-1945). He attended Eastgate Christian Church. On March 17, 1950, he was married to Reva McDaniel. In 1980, after 30 years of service, Ben retired from Home Comfort. He enjoyed a long life of friends, family, hunting, fishing and baseball. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and three sisters. He is survived by his loving wife, Reva of Independence, MO; two sons, Daniel of Independence and Darrell and his wife Linda of Blue Springs, MO; granddaughter, Diana Tyler and her husband Travis of Grain Valley, MO; two sisters, Helen Ruth Eaton and Reba Delke of Rogers AR; two brothers, Fred and wife June of Tucson, AZ and Chad and wife ZoeAnn of Fort Worth, TX; as well as a host of nieces; nephews; and friends. A visitation will be held from 9-10:00 a.m. with a service to follow at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington, Independence, MO. Burial at Mt. Washington Cemetery.
