Doris Hamilton

Doris Jean Hamilton, 81, Independence, MO passed away Friday, May 27, 2011 at the Fountains. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 PM Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St. Independence, MO. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, burial to follow at Floral Hills Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Crossroads Hospice for their loving support and care for Doris. Doris was born October 18, 1929 in Kansas City, MO the daughter of William F. and Lucille (Long) Ross. She had worked for the Kansas City Gas Company when she was younger. Doris walked daily with her Lord and Savior in her faith and attended Rockwood Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Hamilton in 2002; sister Ann Langford and her parents. Survivors include her daughters, Sherry Finkelstein and her husband David of Plano, TX, Cindy Havens of Clinton, MO, and Tracey Martin and her husband Eric of Gower, MO; six grandchildren, Nikki Blair, Andy Finkelstein, Courtney Cox, Jennifer Havens, Rob Martin, Katie Martin and six great grandsons.
