Grace Hardy

Grace H. Hardy, 88 of Independence passed away Thu. Feb. 14, 2008 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Tue, Feb 19, 2008 at Md. Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30 �" 8:00 pm, Monday at the Carson- Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave, Indep. MO. Mrs. Hardy was born on Mar. 23, 1919 to Irvin and Agnes (Schott) Gettys in Ava, MO. She had worked at the A.J. Bundschu Department Store; later known as the Emery Bird Bundschu Dept. Store. She also had been a Sales Clerk with Montgomery Wards for twenty years. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed doing ceramics and bowling. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life. Grace had attended the Englewood Congregation and West College Congregation of the R.L.D.S Church. Grace is survived by a son, Charles “Chuck” Hardy of Coldwater, MI; two daughters, Janet Peve of Blue Springs, MO and Carol Gillmor and husband Bill of Blue Springs, MO. Six grandchildren, Brian (Jeanne) Peve, Jennifer Leaton, Michelle (Tim) Rush, Chuck (Heather) Wieners, Carolyn (David) Storey and Christine (Shawn) Foster. Nine great grandchildren and one brother, Guy Gettys of Springfield, MO.
