Richard Harkins

Richard “Scott” Harkins, 52 of Harrisonville, MO passed away Sunday, December 25, 2011 at Research Belton Hospital. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 29, 2011 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Scott Harkins Memorial Fund c/o Bank of America 4041 South Lynn Court Drive Independence, MO 64055. Scott was born March 23, 1959 in Kansas City, MO to Richard Erle and Marilyn (Aldridge) Harkins. Scott graduated from Hickman Mills High School in 1977. He had worked as a salesman for Anderson Wholesale, Phillips 66 and owned his own vending business. He enjoyed watching sports and was a dedicated OU Sooner fan. He is survived by; a daughter, Alisha Harkins and 2 sons, Nathan and Jeremy Harkins all of Independence, MO; his mother, Marilyn Harkins, a sister, Melanie Harkins and a brother, Christopher Harkins all of Raymore, MO and a nephew, Alex Rutz of Liberty, MO.
