Viola Lena Harms, 93, Blue Springs, MO passed away Tuesday, February, 28, 2012.
Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2012 at Timothy Lutheran Church; 425 NW R.D. Mize Road, Blue Springs, MO 64014. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Church. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Alma Cemetery, Alma, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the Timothy Lutheran Church.
Viola was born June 28, 1918 in Waverly, MO the daughter of Louis and Ida (Hillerbrenner) Aversman, Sr. She was a graduate of Waverly High School. Viola worked as the head cook for the Lutheran School in Higginsville and later retired from Myer Care Center in Higginsville. She was a past member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Higginsville and a current member of Timothy Lutheran Church in Blue Springs. Viola taught Sunday school, and was a member of numerous ladies groups at both churches.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Clamance Harms in 1957; son, Richard L. Harms in 1979; brother, Everett Aversman; and son in law, Raymond Wilckens in 2011.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty Wilckens; son David J. Harms; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and additional nieces, nephews and family.
