Freda Mae Harper, 91, of Independence, MO, passed away November 9, 2010 at the Rosewood Health Center in Independence, MO. She was born June 22, 1919, at Miami Station, Mo. and married Earnest Delbert Harper from Slater Mo on July 3, 1937. A resident of Independence, Mo. since 1945, she first lived in the Mount Washington area before moving in 1983 to the Rock Wood area. She was an active member of the Rockwood Baptist Church until 1999 when she became a resident of an assisted living facility and later a nursing home. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, eldest son, two brothers, five sisters, and one great-grandson. Freda is survived by her daughter-in-law Helen (Bunny) Harper the widow of eldest son Delbert Ray Harper of Kansas City, MO., son Ronald Keith Harper and daughter-in-law Barbara (Bobbie) Harper of Independence, MO., five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1-2:00 p.m. with a 2:00 p.m. service to follow on Monday, November 15, 2010 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington, Independence, MO 64052. Burial will follow at Mount Washington Cemetery.
