Lonso L. Harper, 70, Independence, MO, died Jan. 13, 2008 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Services will be 2 pm,. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008 at Six Mile Baptist Church, 26005 E. Blue Mills Road, Sibley, MO; interment at Six Mile Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 pm prior to the service.
Lonso was born Aug. 5, 1937 in Nevada, MO, the youngest of twenty children. He was an inspector at the Allis Chalmers plant for thirty-two years and retired in 1993. He attended the church. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and tending his vegetable gardens. He was also always there to help out a family member or neighbor.
Lonso is survived by his wife of 49 years Virginia Harper, of the home; son Rick Harper and wife Jenny Shadwick, Clinton, MO; daughters Joann Richardson and husband Wade, Grain Valley, MO; Gina Walters and husband Darrell, Oak Grove, MO; sister Louise Jones, Springfield, MO; brother Percy Harper and wife Waldeen, Bartlesville, OK; Raymond Harper and wife Dollie, St. Charles, MO; grandchildren Will, Seth & Emma Richardson, Breanna Shadwick, Spencer Harper, Destiny & Sharlie Walters.
