Ruth Harris Elliott

Ruth Alice Harris Elliott, 81, of Independence, MO, passed away, Sunday August 8, 2010 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 14, 2010 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m., until service time Saturday at the chapel. Ruth was born February 4, 1929 in Nitro WV to John Wilbur and Vonna (Boyles) McCoy. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was married to Thomas Andrew Harris, Sr. and later divorced. She then married Jack M. Elliott; he passed away on May 30, 2006. Survivors include; 5 sons, David L. Harris and his wife Joyce of Independence, MO; Thomas A. Harris, Jr. and his wife Patty of Silver Bay, MN, John B. Elliott and his wife Sandra and Kevin C. Elliott all of Independence, MO and Stephen M. Elliott and his wife Pam of Riverside, MO; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by; her parents and 7 siblings, Lewis, Eugene, John, Robert, Howard, Genevieve and Myrttle.
