Milton Thompson Harris, 87, of Raytown, MO passed away Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Bishop Spencer Place. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 21, 2009 at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 9349 E. 65th St., Raytown, MO 64133. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial in Blue Springs Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church. Milton was born September 1, 1921 in Lee’s Summit, MO to Carl and Nina Belle (Buckley) Harris. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII where he received the Soldiers Medal Award. Milton retired from Armco Steel in 1978 after 33 years of service. Mr. Harris was confirmed into the church in 1985. Milton is survived by his wife of 30 years, Carolyn (Williams) Harris; daughter Mary K. Schafer and husband Lyle; son Brad Smith and wife Pam; daughters Myra Lewis and husband Frank, Michelle Ganson and husband Gary; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters Josephine Mason, Elizabeth Ficken. He was preceded in death by his first wife Myra Frances Harris; and by two brothers and three sisters.
