Ethelyn Grace Hart, 89, of Independence, MO, passed away Tuesday, May 01, 2007 at her home. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2007 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Friday. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Sisters of St. Francis, Alzheimer’s Assoc., American Heart Assoc. or St. Luke’s Hospice. Ethelyn was born February 7, 1918 in Kansas City, MO to Harry A. and Grace (McTeer) Thompson. She worked for the Dept of Army during WWII assisting soldiers with their supplies. Mrs. Hart was active in 4H, Scouting and raised animals for the Kansas City Zoo. Ethelyn also worked on the family egg and dairy farm and enjoyed gardening in her spare time. Mrs. Hart is survived by her children Michael Hart, Ethelyn Carr, Becky Hart, John Hart, and Barbara Maxwell; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters Edith Clayborn, Ruth Nelson, Bev Curp; brother Harry Thompson, Jr. Ethelyn was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Aurice Hart in 1987.
