J.C. Hart, 87, of Independence, MO peacefully passed away Friday, October 31, 2008 at the Rehabilitation Center of Independence surrounded by his family. Private services. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Children’s Mercy Hospital or to Crossroads Hospice. J.C. was born July 18, 1921 in Nola, AR to John R. and Doshia F. (Wagner) Hart, with John living to the age of 107. Mr. Hart was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. J.C. had a quick wit that amused many, a charming and warm personality and was a perfect gentleman in all respects. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII, while leaving his wife and three of his five children at home. J.C. is survived by his five daughters Veta Barash, Arlene Calohan, Glenda Hart, Sandra Bray and husband Michael, Sherrie Dailey and husband Dennis; grandchildren Craig and Wendy Borowski, Shannon Calohan, Jay Miller, Ryan and Tina Pitts, Taylor Bray, Troy and Terie Bray, Donny and Danny Dailey; four great-grandchildren Sydney and Madison Borowski, Samuel and Maxwell Pitts; by three half-sisters, and six half-brothers. He was welcomed home by his wife of 64 years, Velma (Crumpley) Hart, who passed away in ’05. J.C. was received into heaven as he was reluctantly released from earth by many family and friends, and staff and acquaintances from the Rehabilitation Center of Independence. The family sincerely appreciates the loving individuals from Crossroads Hospice who filled the final days of his life, and those of his family, with comfort and peace.
