Warren Haskins

June 22, 1908 — September 9, 2003

Warren B. Haskins, 95, of Excelsior Springs, MO passed away, Tuesday, September 9, 2003 at his home. Visitation will be 10:00 am Saturday September 13, 2003 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Graveside services will be 11:00 am Saturday at Floral Hills Cemetery. Warren was born June 22, 1908 in Vallejo, CA to William and Louise (Lathan) Haskins. He had lived in and away from Independence, MO since 1917. He was a licensed steam engineer at Kansas City Power & Light CO from 1929 to 1946. Warren was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Coast Guard Merchant Marines. He was a minister for the Community of Christ Church, serving in many capacities including Assistant Chaplain of Independence Regional Hospital, Central Missouri Stake Council, Pastor of Spring Branch, Central in Kansas City and Lone Jack Mission and Assistant Pastor at Stone Church. Warren was a member of Lone Jack Lion�s Club and a charter member of Optimist Club of Independence from 1947 serving as Boy�s Work Chairman, Club president and Lt. Governor. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Pearl Phillips Haskins. Mr. Haskins is survived by his daughters June Raby of Excelsior Springs, MO and Mary Lou Anderson of Boise, ID, son Philip Haskins of Osceola, MO, 9 living grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
