Shirley (Kirby) Hawkins of Independence, born 8-11-43, passed away 12-6-07. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Independence. She worked at Ernest & Young for 25 years. She enjoyed her gardens and cooking dinner for family & friends. She was loved by all who knew her. Shirley is survived by a son, Lyle Roach, wife Tammy & only grandson Kirby of KC MO; daughter Lynn Hamm & husband Evan of Everett, Wa; sister Betty Weaver of Indep & brother Dean Williams of Sugar Creek. She was preceded in death by her daughter Linda Sue. Visitation will be held Thurs, Dec. 20 at 5:30pm at the Carson Speaks Chapel. Memorial service & additional visitation 6:30-8.
In lieu of flowers we are asking for contributions to be made out to Holliday Montessori PTA , her grandson Kirby's school, to help fund a new playground that will be dedicated in her name. A plaque will be mounted at the school honoring all the individual & corporate donors. Mail checks to Lyle Roach, 428 E. 79th St KC, Mo 64131.
