Norma Jean Waisner Hayes, Independence, MO passed away Monday, November 8, 2010 at her home.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St. Independence, MO. Burial to follow at Lobb Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animals Best Friends; 2302 S. Crysler Ave. Independence, MO 64052.
Norma was born September 9, 1934 in Versailles, MO the daughter of Tom and Lena (Sumner) Waisner. Norma had retired from both the K-Mart Corporation and the Medical Center of Independence where she worked as a secretary. She enjoyed knitting, playing piano and attending her grandchildren’s school and sports activities.
Norma is survived by her daughter, Robyn Hayes, granddaughter, Tiffani Dawn Ward and her husband Mike; great grandchildren, Hunter, Tanner, Miley Dawn Ward; daughter in law, Vickie Sanders; brothers, William Waisner and his wife Carol, Robert Waisner and his wife Betty, Larry Waisner and his wife Eva, Gary Waisner and his wife Lynn; brothers and sisters in laws; special friends, Mike, Sherria and Kaitlynn Burk; Jerrold and Karlene Preston; Steve and Kay Moore, Mary Smith, Becky Calvert; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and her special dogs, Abby and Kacey.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years William C. Hayes in September; son, Jerry Joe Hayes; granddaughter, Tara D. Hayes; parents, Tom and Lena Waisner and her dogs, Bip and “BeBe” Dog.
Robyn and Tiffani would especially like to thank Norma’s neighbors, Raymond and Roberta Andes, and Bob and Stella Renno.
