William Hayes

March 5, 1931 — September 3, 2010

William Clark “Bill” Hayes, 79, of Independence, MO peacefully passed away Friday, September 3, 2010 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2010 in the chapel. Burial in Lobb Cemetery. Bill was born March 5, 1931 in Versailles, MO to Willie and Dora (Bias) Hayes. He proudly served during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army. Mr. Hayes retired from Shick Tube-Veyor. Bill enjoyed gardening, watching baseball and football, but fishing was his passion in life. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Norma Jean (Waisner) Hayes; daughter Robyn Hayes; granddaughter Tiffani Dawn Ward and husband Mike; great-grandchildren Hunter, Tanner and Miley Ward; daughter-in-law Vickie Sanders; siblings JR Hayes, Willa Mae Keyes, Peggy Whittaker; brothers-in-law Bob, Bill, Larry and Gary Waisner and their wives; sister-in-law Zoanne Thatcher; special friends Mike, Sherria and Kaitlynn Burk, Steve and Kay Moore; by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and his special dogs Kacee and Abby. Bill was preceded in death by his son Jerry Hayes; granddaughter Tara Hayes; brothers James, Norman and Harold Thatcher; sister Rachel Hayes; nephew Steve Hayes; in-laws Tom and Lena Waisner.
