Hazel L. Carter

Hazel Hagood (Haighwood), Shea, Carter, of Grain Valley, Mo. Passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at the age of 101. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

She was one of eight children born in Town Creek, Alabama to Elbert H Hagood and Jane Robinson Kelley. The Hagood/Haighwood family arrived in America from England in 1650. Their descendants dispersed throughout various states in the union.

Hazel moved to the KC area in 1953 remaining there the remainder of her life. She was a hardworking and loving mother to five children, several grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Hazel was preceded in death by husband Augustine Shea, husband Donald Carter, son Fred Shea, daughter Brenda Noland (Don), son Michael Shea, granddaughter Angela Williams, and granddaughter Brandi Williams.

She is survived by daughter Barbara Cirillo (Anthony deceased), son Gerry Shea (Jennifer), and several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, etc.

Hazel loved to read, play bingo, and travel. She enjoyed trips to Aruba, The Bahamas, Mexico, Canada, and most of the US states.

She will be greatly missed for her simplicity and kindness.
