John W. Hedges II, 63, of Independence, MO passed away April 23, 2009 at his home. A visitation will be held from 9-10:00 a.m. with a service to follow at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 1, 2009 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington, Independence, MO. Burial to follow at Mound Grove Cemetery. John was born July 15, 1945 in Independence, MO to John W. and Betty Lee (Hacker) Hedges. His passions included collecting antiques, listening to old-time music and cooking. His favorite hobby was restoring old family photographs on his computer. In 1998, John retired from the FAA, and then went to work for SI International, where he was a supervisor until April 20, 2009. John was also a member of the Community of Christ Spring Branch Congregation. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, John W. and Betty Lee Hedges; and one niece, Kelly Rickets. He is survived by two sisters, DiAnn Ricketts and partner Richard Hall, Tami Trader; one brother, Steve Hedges and wife Judy, all of Independence, MO; aunt, Jean Cambers and husband Chauncey; five nieces; eight nephews; five great nieces; six great nephews; and many cousins and friends. John will be dearly missed.
