Mildred Hedges

Mildred Hedges, age 76, was born August 12, 1935 in Chamois, MO, the only daughter of Clara and James Karrick. Mildred passed away January 29, 2012 after a brief stay at John Knox Village House. She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandchild Christina Hedges. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, John Arthur Hedges, and their four children including Carolyn Johnson and her husband Edward, Janice Shores, Cathy Leach, and John Alan Hedges and his wife Sandi; five grandchildren including Jacqueline Goodspeed and her husband Jeremiah, James Hedges and his fiancée Elizabeth Covey, Leann Leach, Johnathan Leach, and Kelly Pringle and her husband Aaron; four great grandchildren including Jace Hedges, Jaxson Hedges, Kylee Leach, and Addison Pringle; and her best friend Ruth Payne.

Throughout her life, Mildred loved to travel with her husband, family and friends. Mildred resided with her husband in Independence, MO and retired from Vision Ease in 1995. After an accidental fall in 2010, her husband lovingly served as her caretaker in their home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am, February 4, 2012, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. The family will greet friends before the service from 9 to 10 am in the chapel. Burial at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens.
