Esther Heimdahl

Esther Mae Heimdahl, 87, of Independence, MO peacefully passed away Saturday, September 6, 2008 at her home surrounded by her family. Cremation, no services scheduled. Memorial contributions may be made to Odyssey Hospice. Esther was born October 17, 1920 in St. Joseph, MO to James and Nora (Harvey) Herndon. Her life was centered around her family and caring for them. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Heimdahl retired from the IRS in 1993 after 25 years of service. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Howard W. Heimdahl; daughter Sharon Dowell and husband Roger; granddaughter Amy Ogan and husband Steve; great-grandchildren Ashleigh, Karleigh and Josh. Esther was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
