Margery Heinlen

Margery L. “Boots” Heinlen, 73, of Independence, MO, passed away, Monday, September 28, 2009 at her residence. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 2, 2009 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel with cremation to follow. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the chapel. Donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society. Margery was born October 28, 1935 in Omaha, NE to Leslie and Ruth (Hays) Fennel. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who enjoyed craftwork, shopping going to the casinos, socializing and most importantly spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the F.O.E., the VFW Auxiliary and volunteered at several civic groups throughout her life. She was married to Don Heinlen on December 14, 1985; he survives her. Other survivors include; 4 daughters, Cheri Petersen and her husband Duane of Raytown, MO, Patricia Pike and her husband William of Overland Park, KS, Donna Fentrop and her husband Bill of Linwood, KS and Elaine Schindel and her husband Phil of Kansas City, KS; a son, John Flackmiller and his wife Kharma of Blue Springs, MO; a sister, Linda Hahn of Independence, MO; a brother, Howard Fennel of Louisville, KY; 18 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Bernice Flackmiller in 1987.
