Heinz Carl Lorenz

December 22, 1940 — June 9, 2024

Independence

Heinz Carl Lorenz, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away June 9, 2024, in Independence, Missouri. Born on December 22, 1940, in Misslitz, Czech, son to Rudolf and Marie (Czerny) Lorenz. Heinz lived a life filled with love, laughter, and connections.

Described by many as someone who "never met a stranger," Heinz’s warm and jovial personality endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.  Heinz met LeVern (Dimarco) in 1963 through LeVern’s sister and they were wed in 1966. His passion for life was evident in his role as a devoted husband to LeVern, a loving father to Kim and Kelly, and a proud grandfather to four grandchildren. Heinz was dedicated in his faith and a member of St. Mark Catholic Church for over 56 years. In his professional journey, Heinz dedicated years of service to Bendix, which later became part of Allied Signal and ultimately Honeywell International. He retired from Honeywell International in 2010. Beyond his professional life and family bonds, Mr. Lorenz found joy in the simple pleasures of being an avid reader and indulging in his hobby of building military tanks. His curiosity led him to immerse himself in history and news shows, making him a well-rounded individual with a deep appreciation for knowledge.

Among those mourning his loss are his surviving family members: his beloved wife, LeVern of the home; daughters, Kim (Jeff) Bragg of Olathe, Kansas and Kelly Watson of Odessa, Missouri; along with his four cherished grandchildren; and 2 loved nephews. He is reunited in peace with his late parents Rudolf and Marie Lorenz, as well as his brother Rudolf Lorenz.
