Shirley Jean Heitman, 87, of Independence, MO passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022. A service will be held on Saturday, July 30th at 10am at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W Lexington Ave.; Independence, MO 64052. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens.
Shirley was born on March 29, 1935, in Richmond, MO to Robert and Lee Pearson. She attended Raytown High School and in 1954, married William Lester “Les” Heitman. Shirley cared for their five children while making a house a home. She enjoyed genealogy, cake baking, ceramics, and being involved in a local Metal Detector club with Les. She will be greatly missed.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Rhonda. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, William “Les” Heitman; her children, Rick (Christy), Evon, Michelle, and Dwayne (Krysti); 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
