Pearl Katherine Helman (Schroder)

Pearl Katherine Helman, 98, of Independence, MO, died Monday, March 9, 2016 at Monterey Park Care Center. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 13th at Floral Hills Cemetery, Kansas City, MO.
Mrs. Helman was born July 5, 1916 in Florence, MO as one of five children to Joseph and Alice (Hilderbrandt) Schroder. She has lived in Independence for many years and was a founding member of Christ United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Helman; sisters, Ruth Ploeger, Eva Love and Mildred Strodtman; and brother, Kenneth Schroder. Survivors include son, David Helman of California; daughter, Carol Evans and family of London, Endland; and grandson, Christopher Helman and family of Texas.
