Lola Jean Hemenway (Bowlsby)

Lola Jean Hemenway, 70 of Independence, MO passed away Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Wilshire at Lakewood. Cremation is planned with a Celebration of Life ceremony to be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the Cornerstone congregation of the Community of Christ, 1316 S. Osage St. Independence, MO 64055. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Outreach International or the charity of the donor’s choice. Lola was born August 19, 1945 in Omer, MI to Calvin and Hazel Grace (Moran) Bowlsby. Lola had worked as a bartender for a country club in Florida for many years. She was a member of the Cornerstone congregation of the Community of Christ, The Laurel Club and the Red Hat Society. She is survived by; 2 daughters, Peggy Davis of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Shellie Ansell of Ontario, Canada; 2 sisters, Sandra Deoring and husband Walt of Blue Springs, MO and Judy Bellof and husband Bert of Parkville, MO; 2 grandchildren, Christa Ansell and James Ansell and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
