Flossie Marie Hern, 105 of Buckner, MO passed away, Friday, March 22, 2013 at Oak Grove Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at the First Baptist Church 131 S. Hudson, Buckner, MO 64016. Burial will follow in Buckner Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Monday evening at the Speaks Buckner Chapel 300 Adams, Buckner, MO 64016. Donations may be made in her name to the Buckner First Baptist Church. Flossie was born August 13, 1907 in Syracuse, MO to Henry and Laura (Hendricks) Rearden and has been a longtime area resident and the oldest living citizen of Buckner, MO. She was a beloved wife and homemaker who enjoyed flower gardening, fishing in the Ozarks, garage sales, traveling and going on cruises. She had taken in work as a seamstress and did ironing for people. She was a member and former Sunday school teacher for the Buckner First Baptist Church and was an avid participant at the senior center. She was married to Nathan Hern on May 28, 1938; he preceded her in death in the early 1980’s. Survivors include; 2 nieces, Lorraine Gilmore and Nathine Ingalsbe; 7 great nieces and nephews, Dennis Gilmore and wife Debbie, Marie Turner, Sheryl Rudy, Clifford Craig, Robin Rooks, Melody Jacobs and husband Mike and Donita Friend and husband Jim; 15 great great nieces and nephews and numerous other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Millie Green, a nephew, Bill Gilmore and a niece Donna Gibson.
