Victor G. Herrera, 56, of Sugar Creek, passed away, Thursday, January 28, 2010. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington, Independence, MO 64052. Burial will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery. Visitation from noon until service time Tuesday at the chapel. Victor was born June 8, 1953 in Kansas City, MO to Victor and Aurora (Jimenez) Herrera. He proudly served in the US Army from 1973-75. He had worked in maintenance at the Kansas City VA Hospital for over 20 years. He is survived by; his wife, Tammy (Cheek) of the home; 4 daughters, Victoria Herrera of Kansas City, MO; Mary Jones of Belton, MO, Arianna Herrera and Alina Herrera both of the home; 5 sons, Victor Herrera, Aric Weaver, Aaron Weaver, Austin Cheek and Anthony Cheek all of the home; 3 sisters, Lucy Wurtz and Gloria Southerland of Blue Springs, MO and Rozanna Herrera of Independence, MO and 5 brothers, John Herrera, Raymond Herrera, Mario Herrera all of Independence, MO, Danny Herrera of Washington, DC and David Herrera of OK. He was preceded in death by a sister, Florence Garcia in 1995.
