Beulah Mary Highfill, 91 of Ash Grove, MO, formerly of Independence, MO passed away, Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at the Ash Grove Health Center in Ash Grove, MO. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 2, 2011 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Burial will follow in the Salem Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 9:00 a.m., until service time Monday at the chapel. Donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society. Beulah was born June 10, 1919 in Claremont, OK to Chester W. and Florence Edna (Schneider) Webb. She had worked for the City of Independence for over 17 years as a tax recorder until she retired in 1997. She enjoyed crocheting, working puzzles and traveling. She was Baptist by faith a former member of the Mt. Washington Baptist Church and the VFW Women’s Auxiliary. She was married to Vernie C. Highfill who preceded her in death in 1966. Survivors include; 3 sons, Vernie D. Highfill (Dixie) of Everton, MO, James W. Highfill and Stanley M. Highfill both of Warsaw, MO; 5 daughters, Beulah Delores LaHue (Harold) of Appleton City, MO, Patricia F. Keil (Eugene D.) of Harrisonville, MO, Carolyn F. Justason (George) of Buckner, MO, Hazel M. Sanchez (Mike) of Belton, MO and Janice L. Smith West Plains, MO; a brother, Forest Webb (Dorothy) of Independence, MO; 28 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren and 21 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Joan Floyd in 1976, a brother, Clyde Webb and a sister, Violet Highfill.
