Rose Hilden, 94, of Blue Springs, MO passed away Thursday, February 14th 2013. A visitation will be held from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 18th at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E 39th Street Independence, MO. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Brooking Cemetery, Raytown, MO.
Rose was born December 26th 1918 in Kansas City, MO to parents Stephen Patrick and Mary Margaret (Pauley) Russell. She attended Delta School and Northeast High School. Rose later married Elmer Frank Hilden on December 2nd 1944. Together they raised seven children. She was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting and jigsaw puzzles. Rose is a breast cancer survivor and proudly wore her pink ribbons. She is loved and will be missed.
Rose is survived by her son, Elmer Hilden Jr. of Waynesboro, PA; son, Raymond Hilden of Independence, MO; daughter, Betty Deterding (Roger) of Blue Springs, MO; and sons, Robert Hilden, Jim Bennett and wife Betty, William Hilden all of Independence, MO; twenty one grandchildren, and numerous great and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer F. Hilden, and daughter Margaret Middleton. In lieu of flowers the family encourages contributions to St. Mary’s Manor or Crossroads Hospice.
