Carol Hilton Schafer

Carol Ann Hilton Schafer, 69, Grain Valley, MO passed away Thursday, February 10, 2011. A Memorial Service to Celebrate Carol’s Life will be at 7:00 PM Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St. Independence, MO. Visitation will be from 6:00-7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Carol was born December 25, 1941 in Independence, MO the daughter of Glenn and Norma Ruth (Beall) Hilton. She graduated from University of Central Missouri with a degree in Physical Education and Geology. Carol was employed with the Defense Mapping Agency as a cartographer. She was a member of the Blue Springs Assembly of God. Carol was also a member of the 1959 Northeast Alumni Association. She enjoyed being outdoors, writing poetry and geology. Carol was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her daughter, Jill Smith of Holden; brothers and sisters, Janet Neal and her husband Leon, Bruce Hilton and his wife Tammy, Gwen Lipinski and her husband Uli, Marilyn Peterie and her husband Randy, Stephen Hilton and his wife Melodye, Sam Hilton and his wife Lyn, and numerous nieces, nephews and family and her cat Widdie.
