Alberta Hitch

Alberta M. Hitch, 83, of Independence, MO passed May 21, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, at Good Shepherd Community of Christ. Alberta was born January 27, 1930 in Independence, MO to John and Violet Thomas. She was a member of the Community of Christ. Alberta volunteered in the community for most of her life. She was passionate about music, proficient in playing the piano, clarinet and organ. Her deepest passion, pride and legacy comes from being a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who will be dearly missed by her family. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Charles Francis Hitch; and seven siblings. She is survived by five children, Mike Hitch, Alan Hitch, Joy Galvez, Steve Hitch and Ruth Bohon; thirteen grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
