Ansel Lee Hochstedler

Ansel L. Hochstedler, 85, Independence, MO died Oct. 21, 2014. Services will be 10 am, Monday, Oct. 27 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave.,
Independence, MO 64052; interment at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 pm, Sunday at the chapel. Ansel was born April 1, 1929 in Osceola, MO. He was a U.S. Marine veteran of the Korean War. He worked for the Kansas City Star for twenty-seven years until 1973 before managing his own rental properties. He enjoyed spending time with his fellow veterans at the VFW. Ansel was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. He is survived by his wife of sixty years Barbara Hochstedler, Gobles, MI; son Jeff Hochstedler, Independence, MO; daughter Darla Hochstedler, Overland Park, KS; grandson Craig Cox, Blue Springs, MO; sisters Edith Watkins, Cameron, MO; Anna Bonner and husband Rev. Thomas Bonner, Avondale, AZ; brothers Dean Hochstedler and wife Frances, Osceola, MO and Wallace Hochstedler, Branson, MO.
